Here at the Andy Stewart State Farm agency, we like getting to know our customers and becoming the advisors they can depend on. We strive to have that personal small business feel while being backed by the largest insurance company in the nation. An example of this small business feel is how we work hard to not let the phone go to voice mail and we never have a menu system to our office phones. If it does go to voicemail, we will get back with you same day. When you call our office, we want you to hear a friendly familiar voice. That means when you call you will get one of us four, not a call center that may not even be located in Michigan.
I've been with State Farm since my very first car back when I was sixteen in the late 80's. I spent two decades in education as a high school science teacher in my first career. I enjoyed my years as an educator and now find many of the same skill sets transfer to my newest career as a State Farm agent. From teaching my team members to helping our customers understand the many facets and options within insurance.
My team and I help customers understand and personalize insurance coverage plans based on customer needs. These plans properly protect auto and homes all while making sure we are taking advantage of all the different discounts State Farm has to offer. In addition to home and car we offer personalized plans that will protect you with the new No-fault Reform law. We want to be your first call when it comes to insuring your vehicle, home and renters.
My wife and I have spent the last 30 years in the Ypsilanti area starting with moving here to attend Eastern Michigan University from the Flint area. At Eastern I earned a B.A. in Science. I then attended Marry Grove College to Earn my master's in education. I also attended Washtenaw Community College several times in my life. Some pre-bachelors and some post bachelors schooling earning continuing education as well as learning welding and machining skills for fun. Happily married for nearly 30 years. I have two wonderful children. My Daughter recently graduated from Eastern Michigan University making her the 3rd generation of Eastern attendees starting with my grandmother who attending Eastern back in the 1970's. My son is now attending Washtenaw Community College earning some of his basics while he decides where he wants his life to take him.
There are so many aspects of the Ypsilanti community that made us fall in love with the area. From the incredible variety in restaurants and businesses to the amazing festivals, and people. I have also had the honor on several occasions to volunteer with the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity Ypsilanti. As a former builder I love to exercise some of my carpentry skills while giving back to the community.
